Isn't it funny ...

Isn't it funny when you think you got the local district and map sorted and you march off in that direction when you should have sauntered just around the corner in a third of the time?

We were trying to get to the Colosseo (Colosseum). We thought we had to go just around the corner. And we were right on that score but we missed that vital Street and walked for what seemed for ever. We did get to see parts of Rome that perhaps we wouldn't have otherwise and it's all fabulous and so old and interesting just to see.

We eventually found the Colosseo and as we were about to cross the road the heavens opened. Out of nowhere. Down it came. It reminded us of the last time we were in Rome. Standing in an interminable queue waiting to get into the Sistine chapel and it poured so heavily that we were soaked to the knickers. We continued and squelched our away through the  Vatican museums regardless. Anyway here we were yesterday, all huddled under a pencil pine wondering what to do. And then, as quickly as it appeared, it was gone.

We left to head home and found a great restaurant/bakery/pizzeria and what they can't do with bread dough is nobodies business.

Then home and an afternoon nap. Loving this holiday jaunt. Great invention!!

This is bread-art!!!
